# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • They're done in two hours but taste like you've been fussing with them all day.
  • The apricot jam creates this glossy, addictive sauce that makes even the pickiest eater grab another one.
  • Your slow cooker does all the work while you can actually enjoy your guests instead of being glued to the kitchen.
02 -
  • Don't crank the heat to HIGH just to speed things up because the sauce will break and get thin and watery instead of coating the sausages like it should.
  • Stirring halfway through isn't optional if you want even cooking and even sauce distribution across all of them.
03 -
  • Use a slow cooker with a removable insert if you have one so you can actually get it clean after the party instead of just accepting that it's now permanently sticky.
  • Keep the slow cooker on the WARM setting once you're done cooking if your party runs long, because it keeps them hot without continuing to cook and toughen up the sausages.
