# Directions:
01 - Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
02 - In a large bowl, toss sliced apples with lemon juice. Arrange them in an even layer in the prepared dish.
03 - In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine maple syrup, brown sugar, heavy cream, butter, bourbon, and salt. Bring to a gentle boil, stirring frequently, and simmer 3 to 4 minutes until slightly thickened. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
04 - Pour the warm caramel sauce evenly over the apples in the baking dish.
05 - In a separate bowl, mix oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Add cold cubed butter; mix with fingertips or a pastry cutter until coarse crumbs form. Stir in pecans if desired.
06 - Sprinkle the oat topping evenly over apples and caramel. Bake 40 to 45 minutes until topping is golden and apples are bubbling.
