# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • It's genuinely energizing without the crash or jitters that come with coffee.
  • Those few minutes of whisking become a meditative pause in your day, something almost ceremonial.
  • The vibrant green color looks so beautiful in a mug that you'll actually want to take time for yourself.
  • It tastes expensive and special but costs just pennies to make at home.
02 -
  • Boiling water will make matcha taste bitter and wreck the whole thing—let your kettle water cool for a minute or two, or use water around 80°C and you'll taste the difference immediately.
  • Whisking is not optional if you want it smooth and frothy; an immersion blender works in a pinch, but nothing beats a proper whisk for that traditional, silky texture.
03 -
  • Store matcha in an airtight container away from light and heat, because it loses its vibrant color and fresh flavor quickly when exposed to air or warmth.
  • If your matcha tastes bitter or grassy, it's likely been stored poorly or exposed to heat—quality matters, and so does how you store it after opening.
