01 - Whisk flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together in a mixing bowl.
02 - In a separate bowl, whisk whole milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
03 - Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir until just combined; do not overmix and allow some lumps to remain.
04 - Transfer the batter into a piping bag, squeeze bottle, or prepare to portion with a teaspoon.
05 - Warm a large nonstick skillet or griddle over medium heat and brush lightly with melted butter.
06 - Pipe or drop small dots of batter, approximately 1/2 inch in diameter, onto the heated skillet, spacing each apart.
07 - Cook until bubbles appear and edges are set, around 1–2 minutes, then flip gently using a spatula or chopstick. Cook an additional 1 minute until golden.
08 - Continue with the remaining batter, greasing the pan as needed between batches.
09 - Serve warm in a bowl with a splash of milk or drizzle with maple syrup, honey, and top with berries or banana.
