02 - 1 tbsp honey or pure maple syrup

04 - 1 cup mixed fresh or frozen winter berries (blueberries, blackberries, cranberries, pomegranate seeds)

→ Spiced Crunch

05 - ½ cup rolled oats
06 - ¼ cup chopped nuts (walnuts, pecans, or almonds)
07 - 2 tbsp sunflower or pumpkin seeds
08 - 1 tbsp coconut flakes
09 - 1½ tbsp maple syrup or honey

11 - ½ tsp ground cinnamon
12 - ¼ tsp ground ginger
13 - ⅛ tsp ground nutmeg
14 - Pinch of sea salt

# Directions:

01 - Preheat oven to 350°F. In a bowl, mix oats, nuts, seeds, coconut flakes, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and salt. Add melted coconut oil and maple syrup; stir to coat evenly. Spread on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 8–10 minutes, stirring once, until golden and fragrant. Let cool completely to crisp up.
02 - In each serving bowl, spoon 1 cup yogurt. Swirl in honey and vanilla if using.
03 - Top each bowl with half the berries and a generous sprinkle of spiced crunch. Serve immediately, with extra spiced crunch on the side if desired.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • The contrast between cold creamy yogurt and warm spiced topping makes every spoonful exciting
  • It comes together in minutes but feels like something from a fancy breakfast café
02 -
  • The spiced crunch needs to cool completely before it becomes crispy, so do not taste-test straight from the oven and think something went wrong
  • Making a double batch of the crunch keeps beautifully in a sealed jar for up to a week, making busy mornings much easier
03 -
  • Stir the spiced crunch halfway through baking so the edges do not burn while the center stays pale
  • If using frozen berries, let them thaw slightly while the crunch bakes so they release some of their juices into the yogurt
